Day 1, Activity Fly to Lalibela and Visit Rock-Hewn Churches

  • Depart from Addis Ababa at 11:40, arriving in Lalibela at 12:40.
  • Upon arrival, our agent will pick you up from the airport and transfer you to your Check-In: into Sora Lodge, enjoy lunch, and take a coffee break.
  • Afternoon: Explore the Rock-Hewn Churches. Begin our exploration of Lalibela’s renowned rock-hewn churches, often referred to as the “Eighth Wonder of the World.” Visit some of the first group of churches, including Bete Giorgis (St. George’s Church), Bete Maryam (St. Mary Church), and Bete Medhane Alem (Church of the Savior of the World).
  • Dinner: Enjoy dinner at Bena Abeba Restaurant, famous for its stunning sunset views.
  • Overnight: Sora Lodge, Lalibela

Day 2, Activity Comprehensive Church Tour

  • In the morning after breakfast drive to Yemrehana Krestos Church, approximately one hour drive.
  • Yemrehana Krestos Church is a remarkable 11th-century rock-hewn church renowned for its intricate architecture and frescoes. Carved into a cliffside, it boasts a unique blend of Aksumite and medieval styles, with detailed carvings and a beautifully preserved interior that reflects ancient Christian artistry.
  • Afternoon: Return to Lalibela and have a lunch break flowed by short rest.
  • In the afternoon, explore the second group of rock-hewn churches.
  • Dinner serve at the hotel.
  • Overnight: Sora Lodge, Lalibela

Day 3, Activity Fly back to Addis

  • In the morning after breakfast on the way to the airport visit Nakutelabe Monastery, monastery founded in the 13th century. It is renowned for its unique cave-like architecture, intricate frescoes, and historic manuscripts.
  • Transfer: After the visit, transfer to Lalibela Airport.
  • Flight: Depart from Lalibela at 13:10, arriving in Addis Ababa at 14:10.
  • This will mark the end of the adventure.
